Course Development/Training/Research
Chee Mamuk, BC Centre for Disease Control

This project involved the development of a mini-module on HIV/AIDS within the WebCT learning platform. A number of multimedia learning objects were created and embedded. The module was used as a training tool to introduce Aboriginal Community Health Workers to online learning. As well, various data collection tools were created and administered to determine if a blended learning model would be feasible for this target group.

Program/Course Development
Royal Roads University

Interface Ventures Inc. was hired by Royal Roads University to develop the blueprint for the program entitled 'Distributed Learning Facilitator for Indigenous Communities'. This 15-credit certificate program was developed in response to the need for effective and culturally relevant educational opportunities for learning within First Nation's communities. The course had three areas of focus: adult learning, community learning needs and online learning technologies.

Along with program development, we authored training materials and planned, implemented and instructed the first 10 day residency period. We also authored the first online module.

WebCT Course Development
BC Ministry of Children and Family Development

We were part of a design team that converted the Child Protection Worker course for online delivery for the Ministry of Children and Family Development. This course involved training materials, daily overviews, schedules, learning outcomes, goals and resources. The main classroom was connected to six others, setup for various instructors to interact with the learners. The project involved an introduction to WebCT for the leaners and the instructors.
