The two principals of Interface Venturs Inc., Irene and Martin Buck. We work with other e-learning professionals on a variety of projects.
Irene brings over 14 years of experience as an adult eductor. She has developed numerous courses for small businesses, colleges and eductional institutes for the face-to-face and online environment. She has also authored over 20 self-paced course manuals.
As an early adopter of technology, Irene began using the WebCT online learning platform in 1997 to assist with the delivery of course materials and to facilitate interaction within the college classroom. The positive, dynamic learning experiences that resulted from this online and face-to-face blended learning model, inspired Irene to complete a Master of Arts degree in Distributed Learning through Royal Roads University.
As an e-learning specialist and practitioner, Irene co-authored the blueprint for the Distributed Learning Facilitator for Indigenous Communities program for Royal Roads University. The program, nine months in length, included two week-long residency periods. Irene also co-authored and taught courses within the program.
Most recently, Irene conducted a research and training project at the BC Centre for Disease Control. The central concern of the project was whether or not a blended learning model is feasible for Aboriginal Community Health Workers. An online HIV/AIDS mini-module was the focal point for assisting learners to build skills for online learning.
Irene holds international certification of as a facilitator of Instructional Skills Workshops.
